A recent study revealed that the four Tesla S3XY models have secured spots in the top 50 list of the most sought-after used cars globally. Tesla vehicles are already the most favored electric vehicles (EVs) worldwide, and they also rank highest in terms of used vehicle sales. Previous studies, including one in January 2024, indicated that the Model 3 and Model Y were the most popular used EVs, commanding strong resale prices and delivering value for both sellers and buyers. The latest survey also highlighted that out of the top 50 cars globally, only five were electric vehicles, with four of them being Teslas.
The Jeep Wrangler (536,200), Toyota Tacoma (531,000), Honda Civic (505,600), and Honda City (498,200) dominated, with the Tesla Model 3 (412,000) following closely behind. The Tesla Model Y (173,400) only appeared at 21st place, and the Model S (146,200), Model X (134,700), and Nissan Leaf (125,800) claimed the 26th, 33rd, and 37th spots respectively. Interestingly, the Chevrolet Bolt, which was the third-most-popular EV in 2023 U.S. used EV sales, was not present on the list. This data suggests that global interest in used EVs continues to lean significantly towards Tesla, solidifying the company’s relevance and appeal in the automotive market.
