BMW Reports Robust Electric Vehicle Sales and Achieves Significant Milestone

BMW reported strong growth in its electric vehicle sales figures for Q1 2024 compared to the same period last year. The company achieved a major milestone by selling its one-millionth EV during the quarter. BMQ sold 531,039 cars globally, indicating a 2.5 percent increase, with electric vehicles showing a significant 40.6 percent growth, selling 82,700 units in Q1.

Among the brand’s fully-electric vehicles, several models including the BMW i4, BMW iX3, BMW iX1, BMW iX, and BMW i7 were particularly popular. Positive customer feedback has been received for the new BMW iX2, released in March. Jochen Goller, Member of the BMW AG Board of Management, commented that the company is continuing on its BEV growth path and has achieved an important milestone with the delivery of its one-millionth fully-electric vehicle.

He also emphasized the company’s ability to meet changing customer requirements by providing a choice of drive train technologies and maintaining high flexibility in its product portfolio.
