Tesla has recently made some price adjustments to the Model S, Model X, and Model Y, making them more affordable for consumers. The flagship all-electric premium sedan now starts at $72,990 for the Dual Motor All Wheel Drive (AWD) version and $87,990 for the top-tier Model S Plaid, reduced from $74,990 and $89,990 respectively. Similarly, the Model X Long Range AWD now starts at $77,990, and the Model X Plaid starts at $92,990, down from $79,990 and $94,990 respectively.
Additionally, the Model X Dual Motor AWD qualifies for federal tax credits, potentially lowering the cost to $70,490 for customers. For the Model Y, the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) version starts at $42,990, the Long Range Dual Motor AWD at $47,990, and the Performance at $51,490. With the federal tax credit applied, the cost drops to $35,490, $40,490, and $43,990 respectively before options.
These price adjustments may impact the number of orders for the Model S, Model X, and Model Y. While a $2,000 reduction may not significantly affect monthly payments, it could lead to upfront savings for customers and become more apparent throughout the vehicle loan payment process.
