Tesla Cybertruck withstands heavy rain and standing water in the midst of massive storms

A Tesla Cybertruck was spotted in the midst of heavy rainfall and standing water during severe storms in the Southeastern United States. The region has been hit by a separate storm cell following the recent severe weather in the Northeast, resulting in significant amounts of rainfall across various states.

The storm caused substantial damage and power outages in multiple areas, particularly affecting New Orleans, Louisiana. More than 118,000 homes and businesses were without power from Texas to Georgia, and one fatality was reported in Mississippi.

Strong winds of up to 80 MPH added to the impact of the storms. In the midst of the severe weather, officials in New Orleans advised people to avoid driving due to the risk of flooding.

However, a Tesla Cybertruck was observed attempting to navigate the flooded roads, seemingly unaware of the danger. Elon Musk had ambitious plans for the Cybertruck, envisioning it with the ability to cross bodies of water such as rivers, lakes, and seas.

To achieve this, Tesla equipped the pickup with “Wade Mode,” a feature designed to protect the battery pack by pressurizing it in certain conditions. This feature was part of Musk’s vision for the vehicle to be capable of making a 6.5-mile float from Starbase to South Padre Island in Texas.
