Rivian honored by PETA for creating vehicles that are 100% free of cruelty.

Rivian has been awarded the “REVolutionary Vegan Vehicle” Award by PETA, one of the strictest vegan organizations in the world. The award recognizes Rivian’s efforts to ensure that no animals are harmed in the production of its all-electric vehicles. This is a notable achievement, given PETA’s rigorous standards.

The organization commended Rivian for its contribution to sparing cows and sheep from harm for leather and wool car interiors. PETA also highlighted the increasing support for leather-free car interiors among major car brands, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen. Tesla is fully leather-free, while Volvo has committed to being completely leather-free by 2030.

PETA is urging other brands like Audi, Bentley, Lexus, Mazda, and Porsche to follow suit. Rivian’s vehicles have consistently been promoted as environmentally conscious adventure machines. This principle is reflected in the company’s existing consumer vehicles, the R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV, as well as its upcoming models, the R2 crossover SUV, and the R3 and R3X.

This commitment aligns with the company’s values. Overall, Rivian’s recognition by PETA serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to creating animal- and planet-friendly vehicles.
