Tesla has launched the new Model 3 Performance, an updated all-electric powerhouse with notable changes to its affordable lineup. The vehicle packs serious power and introduces multiple cosmetic and performance improvements. Notably, the Model 3 Performance boasts a new drive unit that produces increased continuous and peak power, along with 16 percent more peak torque, resulting in a faster vehicle with improved energy consumption compared to previous iterations. The new Model 3 Performance features impressive specifications, including a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds, 510 hp, 741 Nm of torque, and a top speed of 163 mph.
The chassis has been performance-tuned, and the cabin retains its quiet and comfortable design while incorporating bespoke chassis hardware for enhanced stiffness and a higher performance baseline. These enhancements result in increased range and lower rolling resistance for improved comfort. Tesla has utilized integrated motor and suspension controls, powertrain cooling, and Vehicle Dynamics Controllers (VDC) under a single, unified system for the Model 3 Performance. The comprehensive upgrades make the new model an exciting addition to Tesla’s lineup.
