SpaceX Conducts Test of Super Heavy Booster Before Fourth Flight

SpaceX recently completed testing on Ship 29 with two successful static fires, after which it was moved back to the production site for final tasks before launch. The company then proceeded with testing the Super Heavy booster by rolling it from the production site to the launch site, where it was lifted onto the launch mount using chopsticks. SpaceX quickly began the final preparations for the fourth test flight. Following the static fire of the Flight 4 Super Heavy booster, SpaceX released a drone video showcasing the power of the vehicle.

The company plans to review the data from the test before deciding on whether to perform another static fire or move the booster back to the production site for final preparations. Ship 29 is undergoing its final checkouts at the production site, including the replacement of heatshield tiles on the spacecraft’s nose, before it is moved back to the launch site. If the data review and final preparations proceed smoothly, approval from the Federal Aviation Administration will represent the final hurdle before the launch. Officials have expressed confidence in the process, following the success of the third flight.

The question arises whether the launch of Starship will occur next month or is more likely in June.
