Tesla Plans to Engage European Brokers for Shareholder Participation in Annual Meeting

Elon Musk has announced plans for Tesla to reach out to banks and brokers in Europe to ensure that European TSLA shareholders can participate in the upcoming 2024 Annual Shareholders Meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 3:30 PM CT. Musk expressed concern after seeing a post by Merz and emphasized the importance of shareholders exercising their voting rights.

In response to Musk’s concerns, at least two online brokers in the EU have started working on ways to enable TSLA shareholders to vote during the meeting. Avanza and Nordnet have noticed increased interest in Tesla’s general meetings.

Nordnet, which has 65,000 customers owning Tesla shares, is actively working on a solution to accommodate shareholder voting. Avanza, with 84,000 TSLA shareholders under its care, is also addressing the issue and plans to provide information to affected customers.

Johan Tidestad, Nordnet’s Head of Communications, noted the pressure from customers and mentioned that they are currently working on a voting solution. Similarly, Sofia Svavar, Avanza’s Communications Manager, stated that they are planning to send out relevant information to their affected customers.

The 2024 Annual Shareholders Meeting will have several critical proposals, including the election of director nominees James Murdoch and Kimbal Musk. Overall, Musk’s initiative to ensure the participation of European TSLA shareholders in the upcoming meeting has prompted proactive responses from EU brokers, demonstrating a commitment to facilitating voting for shareholders.
