Kia is set to continue its legacy in the electric vehicle (EV) market with the upcoming release of the EV3. The company recently teased the compact electric SUV, showcasing its commitment to a future driven by EVs.
The EV3 is expected to follow the success of its predecessors, the EV6 and EV9, and aims to make EVs more accessible to a broader audience. Despite comments from Tesla regarding a slowdown in the EV market, Kia reported a significant increase of 151% in EV sales in Q1 2024 compared to the previous year, with the EV9 contributing to this achievement.
Similar to Tesla, Kia is pushing forward with its EV production, indicating a strong commitment to this growing market. The estimated starting price for the Kia EV3 compact electric crossover is around $32,000, positioning it as a competitive option in the EV market.
It’s worth noting that other automakers, such as Tesla, are also working on launching affordable EVs, with a target price point of around $25,000. The global world premiere of the Kia EV3 is scheduled for May 23, with the event set to be livestreamed on the Kia Worldwide YouTube channel.
Following this unveiling, the EV3 is expected to go on sale later this year, marking a significant milestone in Kia’s journey towards a new era of electric mobility.
