Extension of EV Tax Credit Rules is a Major Victory for Automakers.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has granted an extension for the electric vehicle tax credit rules. This extension allows crucial trace minerals from China to be included in anode materials and battery components without being subject to the tax credit.

However, not everyone is in agreement with this decision. Furthermore, Joe Manchin, the Senate Energy Committee Chair, has expressed concerns that the push to flood the U.S. automotive market with electric vehicles has taken precedence over reducing the country’s reliance on other nations for the materials necessary to build these vehicles.
