Tesla Officially Announces Key Executive’s Departure in SEC Filing

Tesla has officially announced the departure of Drew Baglino, the Senior Vice President of Powertrain and Energy Engineering, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Baglino had served in this role since October 2019 and had been with Tesla since March 2006 in various engineering positions. In a statement, Baglino shared that he would be spending time with his family and children as he transitioned into the next phase of his career.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with talented individuals at Tesla and his contributions to the mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy. While Baglino mentioned that he currently has no specific plans beyond spending time with his family, he also indicated that he tends to have difficulty sitting still for long periods. As of now, Tesla has not named a successor for Baglino’s position.

However, the company has acknowledged the rapid growth and expansion, with some duplication of roles and job functions, and is evaluating all aspects of the company for cost reductions and increased productivity.
