Redwood Materials Included in Time’s ‘100 Most Influential Companies 2024’ List

J.B. Straubel’s battery recycling company, Redwood Materials, was recently featured in Time’s 100 Most Influential Companies 2024 list. The company’s latest achievements were highlighted, including breaking ground on a $3.5 billion plant in South Carolina and securing a $2 billion loan from the Department of Energy. Redwood Materials has attracted well-known clients such as Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Audi, Panasonic, and Lyft, all of whom have been drawn to the vision of Straubel. Additionally, the company has plans to build a cathode material plant in Nevada with a capacity of 1 million electric vehicles annually, and has expanded its hydrometallurgical operations, commissioned large-scale recycling rotary calcines, and begun production of battery anode copper foil.

Redwood Materials’ success has been further amplified through partnerships with several automakers, including Toyota, Ford, and Volvo. These collaborations have positioned the company as a key player in the industry.
