Neuralink launches patient registration in the United Kingdom

Elon Musk’s Neuralink has launched its patient registry in the United Kingdom. The startup is seeking individuals with specific neurological conditions to register for potential participation in upcoming clinical trials in the country.

Eligible participants over 18 with conditions such as quadriplegia, paraplegia, vision loss, hearing loss, inability to speak, or major limb amputations are invited to join. Inclusion on Neuralink’s UK patient registry does not guarantee a spot in a future trial, but it represents a significant initial step for those interested in testing the company’s brain-computer interface.

Neuralink currently offers one product – Telepathy – that enables users to operate tech devices using their mind. As a company associated with Elon Musk, Neuralink tends to attract criticism.

Despite this, there is little doubt that the company’s products have the potential to make a significant impact on people’s lives. Arbaugh, a recipient of a Neuralink implant, previously faced challenges in securing employment due to difficulties with typing.
