Tesla’s registrations in China rise to 14.8k units in the fourth week of April.

Tesla China’s new vehicle registrations experienced a significant increase during the week of April 22-28, 2024. The electric vehicle maker reportedly recorded 14,800 insurance registrations, marking a notable week-over-week surge of over 180%.

This uptick follows a period of low registrations in April 2024, with the week ending April 7 seeing approximately 1,900 registrations. Industry watchers and automakers closely monitor these registrations, with companies like Li Auto regularly sharing their numbers.

Estimates suggest that Tesla China has accumulated over 161,000 domestic vehicle registrations within 17 weeks of the year, indicating potential year-over-year decline compared to the same period in 2023 when the registrations were over 178,000. Despite this, Tesla China continues to exhibit significant activity.

It is worth noting that these figures provide valuable insight for industry analysts and stakeholders, shedding light on the performance and trends within the electric vehicle market in China. This data serves as a barometer for the company’s progress and market dynamics, and underscores the continued interest and competition within the electric vehicle sector.
