Tesla Sweden car repairs restart as IF Metall eases restrictions

Tesla has argued that its workers are well taken care of and that Swedish law allows companies to determine whether to have collective agreements. On the contrary, IF Metall has stated that most businesses in Sweden opt for a collective agreement.

As the conflict persists, IF Metall has made concessions, estimating that approximately a hundred cars could now be repaired between February 19 and April 30, 2024. The union acknowledged the impact of the strike on Tesla owners, expressing understanding for the inconvenience caused.

However, it was specified that only non-drivable Teslas would be eligible for repairs, while operable but damaged cars would remain unrepaired at this time. Despite the sympathy for affected Tesla owners, the IF Metall official criticized Tesla’s stance on both its employees and car owners.

Additionally, it was noted that after April, no further vehicle repairs would be allowed, emphasizing the importance for Tesla owners to take advantage of this limited repair window.
