Tesla Loses Director Who Oversaw Cybertruck Production Expansion

A prominent Tesla employee has recently announced his departure, adding to the string of staff changes at the electric vehicle company. This key employee, who has been in his role since January 2023, was responsible for overseeing the launch and production ramp of the Cybertruck. In a statement, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with talented colleagues and vendor partners, both in Shanghai and Austin.

Prior to his current position, he served as the Manufacturing Director at Gigafactory China, managing the manufacturing operations of the Model 3 and Model Y. The departing employee also hinted at embarking on a “new journey” and drew an analogy to a Falcon 9 returning to base to refuel and prepare for its next launch, while not specifying his future plans. He emphasized the company’s achievements in advancing sustainable energy and innovative high volume production lines, expressing pride in the fundamental changes they have brought to the automobile manufacturing industry since the establishment of GFSH in 2019.

The employee’s departure marks another change within Tesla, as the company continues to evolve and expand.
