Tesla will update the Model S software for safer charging following a Supercharger fire
Today Tesla revealed that it concluded its own investigation and confirms that the cause of the fire was a short-circuit in the car and though the automaker doesn’t know why the short-circuit happened, and again the odds of another fire are extremely low, it will nonetheless push a software update to its fleet to “provide extra security during charging”.
Hong Kong transport officials approve use of Tesla autopilot functions in policy reversal
Drivers of Tesla Model S in Hong Kong can now enjoy its auto steer and auto lane change functions – two autopiloting features that were suspended by the Transport Department in October last year, the electric vehicle manufacturer revealed. “Tesla’s autopilot is back in Hong Kong with version 7.1,” said Charged Hong Kong, a local electric vehicle group that included Tesla drivers, in a message posted on its Facebook page on Monday. “It goes to show that Hong Kong really is a beacon city for electric vehicles!”

Tesla Model X P90D First Drive
If you've driven a Model S, then you'll feel right at home in the X. The X is bigger, obviously, and heavier, but from the driver's seat, you could easily forget which one you're in. You sit a bit higher, but the 17-inch touchscreen that controls many of the SUV's functions is just like the one in the S, and the dashboard is also similar. Performance, too, is the same quiet, quick, and powerful experience that any Model S driver is used to.

Tesla Model 3 mania starts with tweet
Tesla Motors will unveil a prototype for the Model 3 electric car at its design studio in Hawthorne, California. Yesterday evening, the company kicked off the countdown to the presentation with a single tweet showing a Model S, a Model X, and a dark silhouette clearly intended to be the Model 3.
Tesla Will Unveil a Drivable Model 3. Here's What It Looks Like
Tesla is preparing to unveil its $35,000 Model 3 electric car on March 31, and today it revealed a few key details in invitations sent to owners and the media. First and foremost: There will be a working prototype on site. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk previously indicated he might not show the full car, which isn't expected to go on sale until 2017 at the earliest. A drivable version at the event might indicate the company is further along than some investors thought.
Can't wait to see video of test drives given to the media in Model 3 prototypes. Or better yet, perhaps guests will be able to get a test drive as well.

Lawmakers tour Tesla’s secretive battery factory
Ten state lawmakers received a tour of Tesla’s secretive new battery gigafactory under construction east of Reno on Wednesday. Lawmakers who accepted the invitation for the sneak peak also had a chance to meet with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Lyndon Rive, founder of the rooftop solar company SolarCity and Musk’s cousin. Musk is SolarCity’s chairman and largest shareholder. Recent Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, a climate change adherent, was also at the Tesla factory on Wednesday. While he chatted with lawmakers he was there primarily to interview Musk for a documentary.

Wall Street Tours the Tesla Factory—and Loves What It Sees
Wall Street analysts have been touring Tesla’s massive factory in Fremont, Calif., and they're returning with the same conclusion: Elon Musk's electric-vehicle company is getting ready for something big. In a sign of this enthusiasm, Robert W. Baird & Co. upgraded its Tesla rating on Monday morning following a factory tour. Tesla spent some $1.6 billion on major upgrades last year as it prepares to launch its first attempt at a mass-market car—the Model 3—on March 31.1 The transformation is striking, according to auto analysts at Stifel Financial Corp., Credit Suisse Group AG, and Baird.
Tesla Motors Chief Spokesman Leaves Ahead of Model 3 Unveil
Ricardo Reyes has left Tesla Motors Inc. after less than 18 months as vice president of global communications just as the electric-car maker prepares to sell its most important new model. A Tesla spokesman confirmed that Reyes has left the company. He had the top communications job from November 2014 until recently. Reyes declined to comment on his departure.
It's my opinion that Tesla has had a major communication problem as evidenced in its poor communication with Model X reservation holders. Hopefully the new VP of Communications will be able to fix this.
